To get enough currency I would recommend using your gathering turns in the festival flight's regions since that's basically free stuff, and grinding in coli. They're under create new item, and you use goo/ooze/slime/sludge/muck* to make them. You get festival currency by gathering in that flight's regions (so in this case, any kind of gathering in water), by grinding in the coli where they drop as monster loot mostly from water and neutral enemies, and also by baldwin but not on the transmute objects tab. If so, not sure why you associate them with transmuting familiars. Are you talking about the festival currency, in this case the giant sand dollars, that you can use to buy things in the festival shop?
